As a leading manufacturer based in China, ZYTC Alloy supplies Hastelloy® B-2 (UNS N10665) products designed for severe service conditions across the chemical processing, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical industries.

ZYTC Alloy offers a comprehensive range of product forms, available in Plate, Sheet, Pipe, Fittings, Flanges, and Forgings, all manufactured to meet ASTM/ASME specifications.

1. Product Specifications & Properties

Alloy B-2 is a nickel-molybdenum alloy with approximately 28% molybdenum content, offering superior resistance to reducing corrosive media. Unlike chromium-dependent stainless steels, B-2 relies on molybdenum for protection in non-oxidizing environments.

Key specifications:

Low Carbon Design (≤0.01%): Minimizes grain-boundary carbide precipitation during welding
Solid-Solution Strengthened: Provides balanced mechanical properties without heat treatment
Typical Tensile: 914 MPa | Yield: 396 MPa | Elongation: 55%

2. Operating Conditions & Selection Guidelines

Ideal Media: Hydrochloric acid at various concentrations, dilute sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, and other reducing chemicals
Temperature Range: Maintains structural integrity up to approximately 800°C in reducing atmospheres
Critical Limitation: Not recommended for oxidizing environments containing ferric or cupric ions, dissolved oxygen, or other oxidizing agents
Common Applications: Reactor vessels, heat exchangers, piping systems, acid storage tanks, and pharmaceutical processing equipment

3. Fabrication & Material Comparison

Welding Considerations: Readily welded using GTAW/TIG or GMAW methods. Due to high molybdenum content, maintain low heat input and controlled interpass temperatures to prevent hot cracking
Advantage Over Stainless Steels: Eliminates risk of intergranular corrosion in as-welded condition without post-weld heat treatment
Versus C-276: B-2 provides superior performance specifically in pure reducing acids at lower cost, while C-276 suits oxidizing/reducing cycling conditions
