AMS 5704L is the Aerospace Material Specification covering a corrosion- and heat-resistant nickel alloy in the form of forgings measuring 3.25 inches (82.6 mm) and under, as well as forging stock of any size. This specification applies to Waspaloy forgings produced from consumable electrode remelted or vacuum induction melted material, ensuring superior cleanliness, consistent chemistry, and enhanced mechanical properties essential for demanding aerospace applications.

The specification requires a specific heat treatment sequence to develop the alloy's full mechanical potential:
