AMS 5540 covers Alloy 600 (UNS N06600) sheet, strip, and plate up to 2.000″ (50.80 mm) thickness. This nickel-chromium-iron alloy offers excellent oxidation and carburization resistance at high temperatures, immunity to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking, and good performance in nitriding environments. It combines high strength with good workability and is readily weldable.
