Inconel® 600 (UNS N06600 / 2.4816) is a solid-solution nickel-chromium alloy offering high strength, excellent oxidation resistance, and good corrosion resistance at elevated temperatures. Its austenitic structure provides resistance to chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking, while its ductility and workability allow for easy fabrication of complex industrial components.
This alloy is extensively utilized in chemical processing, heat treatment equipment, aerospace components, nuclear engineering, and electronics manufacturing, where long-term reliability under extreme conditions is non-negotiable.
As a professional China nickel alloy supplier, ZYTC Alloy provides standardized Inconel 600 products including bars, plates, sheets, tubes and forgings with full specification coverage, strict quality control and complete certification support.

Fabrication & Heat Treatment
Forming
Hot Working: Heat to 1010 – 1230°C, work rapidly; reheat if temperature drops below 870°C
Cold Working: Readily formable using conventional methods; intermediate annealing may be required for severe reductions
Annealing: Heat to 980 – 1040°C, soak 15-30 minutes, water quench or air cool for best corrosion resistance
Welding
Alloy 600 exhibits excellent weldability and can be joined using all standard arc welding methods:
Welding Process
Recommended Filler Metal
TIG (GTAW)
Filler metal 82 (ERNiCr-3)
MIG (GMAW)
Filler metal 82 (ERNiCr-3)
SMAW (Stick)
Electrode 182 (ENiCrFe-3)
Submerged Arc
Filler metal 82 with neutral flux
Preheating: Generally not required (except for heavy sections to avoid thermal shock)
Post-Weld Heat Treatment: Not mandatory; solution annealing at 980-1040°C can restore optimum corrosion resistance
Advice: Use low-heat input techniques; clean joint areas thoroughly before welding
