Nickel Alloy X (UNS N06002 / 2.4665 / GH3536) is a nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum solid-solution-strengthened superalloy renowned for its exceptional combination of high-temperature strength, oxidation resistance, and fabricability. It maintains excellent mechanical properties from cryogenic temperatures up to 1,205°C (2,200°F), making it a preferred material for gas turbine engines, industrial furnaces, and petrochemical applications. 

Unlike many precipitation-hardening alloys, Hastelloy X achieves its properties through solid-solution strengthening – no age hardening required. It exhibits good ductility even after prolonged exposure to high temperatures, with resistance to oxidation, carburization, and nitriding in various atmospheres.

Nickel alloy X can operate from -184°C to 1,205°C (-300°F to 2,200°F) while maintaining good mechanical properties. Long-term service temperature can reach 1,095°C with short-term exposure up to 1,200°C.

Nickel alloy X corresponds to UNS N06002, DIN/EN 2.4665, AMS 5536/5754, ASTM B435/B572, GB/T GH3536/GH536. 

Can Hastelloy X be welded?

Yes. Hastelloy X offers excellent weldability with good resistance to cracking. Filler metal ERNiCrMo-2 (AWS A5.14) is commonly used. Welding can be performed using a variety of techniques including TIG and MIG.
