Alloy 600 (Inconel® 600 / UNS N06600 / W.Nr. 2.4817) is a high-performance nickel-chromium-iron alloy. Excellent mechanical properties of the alloy give this material high strength and good workability. The alloy provides excellent resistance to alkaline solutions and fair resistance to strongly oxidised acid solutions. It is particularly resistant to attack by dry chlorine or hydrogen chloride, even at temperatures up to 650°C. The alloy also shows good resistance to carburisation and nitriding environments, with long-term thermal stability up to 1093°C.
