AMS 5874 is a professional aerospace specification covering solution heat-treated, heat and corrosion-resistant alloy flat products, including sheet, strip and plate. The corresponding material Alloy 556 / UNS R30556 is a premium iron-nickel-chromium-cobalt multi-element superalloy, uniquely developed for extreme high-temperature and harsh corrosive working environments. Different from conventional single-function high-temperature alloys, Alloy 556 integrates excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance, sulfidation resistance, carburization resistance and chlorine corrosion resistance. It also withstands erosion from molten chloride salts and molten zinc, paired with outstanding high-temperature mechanical strength and flexible fabrication performance. | |
ZYTC Alloy, a professional Chinese manufacturer of high-temperature corrosion-resistant alloys, supplies full-spec AMS 5874 Alloy 556 sheet, strip and plate. All products are strictly solution-annealed to meet aerospace and industrial high-temperature equipment standards, with stable quality and complete certification support.

Material CharacteristicsMulti-Corrosion Resistance: Excellent resistance to sulfidizing, carburizing, chlorine-containing gas corrosion, molten chloride salt erosion and molten zinc corrosion, adapting to complex industrial high-temperature corrosive media. Superior High-Temperature Strength: Maintains stable structural strength and thermal stability under long-term high-temperature operation, avoiding creep deformation and failure. Balanced Oxidation Resistance: Reliable anti-oxidation performance in high-temperature aerobic environments, effectively reducing surface scaling and material loss. Outstanding Processability: Supports flexible hot working, cold forming and various welding methods, with low processing difficulty and high finished product yield.
Fabrication & Welding Performance1. Hot & Cold FormingHot Working: Forging and hot forming can be performed stably after uniform heating at 1175°C (2150°F) to ensure consistent internal structure. Cold Working: Excellent room-temperature ductility allows conventional cold stamping, bending and shaping. Post-Processing Treatment: All hot/cold worked parts require annealing and rapid cooling to restore optimal mechanical and corrosion-resistant properties.
2. WeldabilityAlloy 556 supports multiple mature welding processes with stable weld quality and no obvious cracking tendency: GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding / TIG) GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding / MIG) SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) Resistance Welding
Standard Heat Treatment ProcessSupply State: Supplied in solution heat-treated condition as standard. Standard Solution Annealing: 1175°C (2150°F), followed by rapid cooling or water quenching to achieve the best combination of strength, toughness and corrosion resistance. Note: Long-term heating below the solution temperature will cause secondary phase precipitation, reducing material ductility and corrosion performance.
