AMS 5750D – Alloy Bars, Forgings, and Rings, Corrosion and Heat Resistant Nickel Base – 15.5Cr – 16Mo – 3.8W – 5.5Fe – Solution Heat Treated. AMS 5750D specification covers a corrosion- and heat-resistant nickel-base alloy in the form of bars, forgings, flash welded rings, and stock for forging or flash welded rings. Alloy C-276 (Hastelloy® C-276 / UNS N10276) is a solid solution strengthened nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy with a small amount of tungsten. Alloy C-276 exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in a variety of harsh environments and media. Like many other nickel alloys, it is ductile, easily formed, and welded. This alloy is used in most industrial settings where aggressive chemical environments are present and other alloys have failed. Fabrication Solution Annealing: 1121-1177°C (2050-2150°F) , water quench Hot Working: 1093-1205°C (2000-2200°F); reheat if temperature falls below working range Cold Working: Good ductility; can be cold drawn and rolled using standard methods Machining: Requires rigid setups, sharp carbide tools, positive feeds, and ample coolant; work-hardening rate moderate Welding: Excellent weldability using GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and SMAW; matching filler metal (ERNiCrMo-4) recommended; no preheat required; as-welded properties are excellent without post-weld heat treatment
