Product Specifications & Physical DataAlloy X seamless tube is supplied in the solution heat-treated condition, offering excellent formability and weldability for fabrication into critical high-temperature components. The alloy is solid-solution strengthened with molybdenum and tungsten. Available Forms: Seamless tube; also bar (round), flat bar, rod, strip, plate, sheet, wire, pipe, forging stock, extruded section, and welding wire Specifications: AMS5587G, ASTM B622, ASTM B626, UNS N06002, Werkstoff Nr. 2.4665.
Fabrication Solution Annealing: 1177°C (2150°F) followed by rapid cooling (water quench); supplied in this condition Hot Working: 1093-1205°C (2000-2200°F); reheat as necessary Cold Working: Good formability; can be bent and shaped Machining: Good machinability using conventional methods Welding: Excellent weldability using GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and resistance welding; matching filler metal (Alloy X welding wire) recommended.
