ASTM A790 defines ferritic-austenitic duplex pipe for corrosive service, specifying chemical composition, heat treatment, tensile, yield, hardness, flattening test and surface requirements. UNS S32760 seamless pipe is a premium super duplex grade formulated with 25% Cr, 7% Ni, 3.6% Mo plus copper, tungsten and nitrogen, delivering a high PREN value for harsh corrosive conditions.

Its balanced ferrite-austenite microstructure combines the high mechanical strength of ferritic steel and the strong corrosion resistance of austenitic stainless steel. It performs exceptionally well against chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking and sulphide stress corrosion cracking in sour gas service. The grade maintains stable impact toughness even at low temperatures, with only a minor drop in impact energy after welding.
