ZYTC Alloy is a reliable Chinese manufacturer and global supplier of premium aerospace‑grade special steels. We provide high‑performance AMS 6514 Maraging 300 maraging steel round bars and forging billets for aerospace, motorsport, tooling and defense industries.

AMS 6514 governs aircraft‑quality maraging 300 steel products including bars, forgings, mechanical tubing and flash‑welded rings up to 10.000 inches (254.00 mm) in diameter or cross‑section dimension, alongside forging stock in unrestricted sizes. Our materials comply with UNS K93120, ASTM A579, MIL‑S‑46850 and other cross‑reference specifications to satisfy strict international project requirements.

Maraging 300 is a low‑carbon, age‑hardenable iron‑nickel maraging stainless steel celebrated for its unmatched combination of ultra‑high strength, outstanding toughness and excellent resistance to crack propagation. Unlike conventional high‑carbon tool steels, it gains mechanical strength primarily through intermetallic phase precipitation during aging treatment, instead of carbon martensite hardening. It delivers high yield and tensile strength, great ductility, superior impact performance, excellent fatigue and compressive strength, as well as good hardness and wear resistance suitable for heavy‑duty tooling applications. The alloy also features remarkable fabrication flexibility: it can be cold‑formed, warm‑worked or hot‑formed without intermediate annealing cycles. Weld performance stands out as well; reliable welding can be completed without pre‑heating or post‑heating procedures, and it supports high‑quality polishing finishes.

Additional practical advantages make Maraging 300 widely favored by engineers. Its low thermal expansion coefficient effectively reduces heat checking risk under cyclic thermal loads. Pitting corrosion performance surpasses many common tool steel grades. Repair welding can be performed conveniently, and components can be re‑treated and reworked to extend service life, bringing notable cost benefits for tooling projects.

Heat Treatment Guidelines

Maraging 300 contains extremely low carbon content, so protective atmosphere is not mandatory during annealing or aging cycles. Material is supplied in solution‑annealed condition at 30‑35 HRC.

Standard aging cycle for general applications: hold at 900‑925 °F for 6 hours, air cool, achieving final hardness 50‑55 HRC. For large cross‑section workpieces, extend aging holding time accordingly.

For die‑casting tooling service to maximize die service life, a modified thermal cycle is recommended. Rough‑machined parts shall be annealed at 1500‑1525 °F, holding one hour per inch of material thickness. After finish machining, perform aging treatment at 980‑1000 °F for 6 hours.
