AMS 5915 specifies vacuum-induction and consumable-electrode melted, solution-annealed, precipitation-hardenable nickel superalloy bars and forgings. Corresponding to UNS N07208 / Haynes® 282, this gamma-prime strengthened wrought superalloy is engineered for extreme high-temperature structural service, primarily for aerospace and industrial gas turbine systems.

Alloy 282 delivers a uniquely balanced combination of superior creep strength, exceptional thermal stability, reliable weldability and excellent fabricability — a comprehensive performance advantage unmatched by conventional commercial superalloys. Its creep resistance across 649°C to 927°C (1200–1700°F) exceeds Waspaloy and approaches Rene 41, without compromising welding and forming flexibility. Thanks to its low gamma-prime phase volume and slow precipitation kinetics, the alloy effectively resists strain-age cracking and maintains excellent ductility in the solution-annealed state.

As a professional Chinese high-end nickel superalloy supplier, ZYTC Alloy provides fully AMS 5915 compliant Haynes 282 bars, forgings and forging stock with stable microstructure, precise heat treatment and complete certification to support global aerospace, power generation and advanced energy projects.

Core Material Advantages

  • Superior High-Temperature Creep Performance: Outstanding creep strength at 649–927°C, surpassing Waspaloy and matching premium-grade superalloys for long-term high-load thermal service.
  • Excellent Fabricability & Weldability: Low gamma-prime precipitation volume minimizes strain-age cracking risks; soft annealed state ensures easy forming, machining and welding, with machinability equivalent to Waspaloy.
  • Long-Term Thermal Stability: Maintains stable mechanical properties and microstructure under prolonged high-temperature cyclic operation, extending component service life.
  • Multi-Mode Heat Treatment Versatility: Supports standardized, patented and ASME-compliant single/two-step aging processes to customize strength and structural toughness for diverse working conditions.

Professional Heat Treatment Guidelines

Alloy 282 is supplied in solution-annealed condition (1121–1149°C / 2050–2100°F) for easy fabrication. Precipitation hardening after manufacturing unlocks its full high-temperature strength. Three mature heat treatment protocols cover industrial and aerospace requirements:
  • Standard Two-Step Treatment: 1010°C (1850°F) / 2h, air cool + 788°C (1450°F) / 8h, air cool — original specification for general gas turbine components.
  • Patented Alternative Two-Step Treatment: 899°C (1650°F) / 4h, air cool + 788°C (1450°F) / 8h, air cool — improves structural containment for high-stress hot-gas-path parts.
  • ASME Single-Step Treatment: 802°C (1475°F) / 8h, air cool — compliant with ASME pressure vessel Code Case 3024 for power equipment applications.

Available Product Forms

ZYTC Alloy supplies full-spectrum AMS 5915 Alloy 282 product series to meet integrated manufacturing demands:
  • Bar & Forging Stock: Diameter up to 9 inches
  • Billet & Ingot: 4–20 inches (100–500mm) diameter
  • Plate, Sheet & Coil: Foil thickness to 50mm+ heavy sections
  • Seamless/Welded Pipe & Tube, Vacuum Castings and Additive Manufacturing Powder

Applications

Aerospace & Gas Turbine Systems

Ideal for aero and industrial gas turbine hot-section components, including combustor liners, transition frames, turbine nozzles, exhaust parts, engine cases and rolled rings. The alternative two-step heat treatment significantly enhances high-temperature structural integrity for critical hot-gas-path assemblies.

Advanced Power Generation

Specially applicable for Advanced Ultra-Supercritical (A-USC) boilers, steam turbines, supercritical CO₂ power cycles and concentrating solar power equipment. It achieves over 100,000-hour creep life under 100 MPa stress at 760°C (1400°F), meeting ultra-long-service power equipment standards.
