AMS 5758 specification covers a high-strength, corrosion-resistant alloy (MP35N / UNS R30035) in the form of bars. MP35N is an ultra-high strength nickel-cobalt alloy with good ductility, oxidation resistance, and corrosion resistance, which is hardened through work hardening and aging. It is a non-magnetic alloy that offers excellent tensile strength, good ductility, toughness, and excellent corrosion resistance.

The alloy is work-strengthened and aged to obtain strength levels of 260 to 300 ksi (1793-2086 MPa) in its full strength and stress corrosion cracking resistance (SCC) for harsh environments .

ZYTC Alloy is an ISO 9001 and AS 9120B certified superalloy manufacturer and supplier, offering AMS 5758 MP35N alloy bar at factory-direct prices with full material traceability and fast global delivery.

Operating Conditions & Selection Criteria

MP35N solution heat treated bar (AMS 5758) is specified as the starting material for components requiring ultra-high strength (260-300 ksi) with exceptional corrosion resistance after subsequent cold working and aging.

  • Work Strengthenable: The solution heat treated condition is soft and formable, designed to be cold worked (45-50% reduction) and aged to achieve full strength

  • Ultra-High Strength: After work strengthening and aging, MP35N achieves 260-300 ksi (1793-2086 MPa) tensile strength — among the highest of any commercially available corrosion-resistant alloy

  • Corrosion Resistance: Outstanding resistance to hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), salt water, chloride solutions, and mineral acids (nitric, hydrochloric, sulfuric)

  • Stress Corrosion Cracking: Excellent resistance to SCC in harsh environments, even at full strength levels

  • Crevice Corrosion: Exceptional resistance to crevice cracking in seawater and other hostile environments

  • Non-Magnetic: Magnetic permeability < 1.01

  • Biocompatibility: ASTM F562 / ISO 5832-6 approved for surgical implants

  • Sour Gas Service: NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 approved for H₂S environments
