Manufactured in compliance with SAE AMS 5893 specifications, this alloy delivers outstanding mechanical strength and maintains precise dimensional accuracy under thermal cycling conditions. When adopted for aero‑engine parts and rocket thrust chambers, it effectively improves strength‑to‑weight ratio and achieves weight reduction. Its controlled low‑expansion performance guarantees tight component clearances and tolerances, helping equipment realize higher power output and better fuel efficiency. The alloy can operate stably at temperatures up to 1200 °F (649 °C).
 
Incoloy 909 is governed by three major aerospace AMS specifications: AMS 5884 for bars, forgings and rings; AMS 5892 for sheets and strips; AMS 5893 for bars, forgings and rings. Recommended hot‑working temperature range is 1800 °F (982 °C)‑1900 °F (1038 °C). Air cooling is required after hot working instead of water quenching to preserve target mechanical properties.
