1J85 is a nickel-iron-molybdenum soft magnetic alloy, commonly referred to as permalloy, engineered for exceptional magnetic performance in low-intensity fields. With a high nickel content (approximately 80%) and controlled molybdenum addition, it achieves outstanding initial and maximum magnetic permeabilities, high saturation magnetic induction, and extremely low coercivity. This austenitic alloy minimizes hysteresis loss, eddy current loss, and magnetostriction, making it highly responsive to weak signals. It is widely used in precision magnetic components such as transformer cores, magnetic shields, recording heads, and sensitive instrumentation .
