AMS 5511 304L Stainless Steel Sheet

AMS 5511 is an aerospace specification that defines corrosion-resistant 304L stainless steel supplied in sheet, strip, and plate forms with a minimum nominal thickness of 0.005 inches (0.13 mm). As an extra-low-carbon variant of standard 304 stainless steel, 304L features a maximum carbon content of only 0.03%, which fundamentally eliminates carbide precipitation during welding and brazing processes. This unique low-carbon design enables the material to retain full corrosion resistance in the “as-welded” state, even under harsh corrosive environments, greatly simplifying post-weld processing procedures.
